I am delighted to have been appointed "Legal Correspondent" of Counterknowledge.com.
You will see my first post, on the Simon Singh case and other concerns about the way libel law is used to close down public debates, here.
This appointment will not affect my blogging on this site, but it will allow me to write more substantial articles about how law and the legal process is used by the agents of so-called "counterknowledge" - CAM, psychics, and so on.
"Counterknowledge" is a term coined by Damian Thompson, who is both a skeptic and a Roman Catholic. He is "editor-in-chief" of the Counterknowedge.com site, though other contributors appear to be non-religious.
As I am a secularist (though not a militant atheist), I must say I cannot see how skepticism and Roman Catholicism can be easily squared, if at all. That said, I would rather be a tolerant Christian than an intolerant atheist.
Counterknowledge.com is an excellent and up-and-coming website dealing with various issues of interest to all skeptics, with well-informed and well-written articles, and I am very happy to be formally involved.

If a virgin can give birth, if bread and wine can become God's body and blood and if God can become Man, why can't a Roman Catholic also be a skeptic? Set aside your doubts, and don't be so...okay, never mind.
PS: Congratulations on the appointment.
